-show flags (so you can spin, duh. without flags..there would
be no guard.)
-a weapon (only if you spin one of course. same rules apply to weapons that apply to flags. do NOT let any
non guard person spin your weapon. it's for their own safety.)
-guard gloves (you should have these. wear them because
they'll make flag/weapon work easier and..we sorta have to.)
-guard shoes (for games and competitions, so we look like
grandmas =P)
-your uniform (depending on what we tell you, bring either
the pretty black and blue one or the alternate one which is usually your tour shirt and jeans.)
-sneakers (so we can
march during practices. any other kinds of shoes you won't be able to march in, and not being able to march will be counted
as an unexcused absence.)
-comfy clothes (so you can move around easier. NO JEANS or you'll also have to sit
out and it will be an unexcused absense.)
-drill/dot book (so we can march around on the field. look at these occasionally
so you have an idea of where you move on the field. highlighting your guard number does help. bring your dot book to every
practice or you'll have to run or something.)
-water (you don't wanna dehydrate and faint, that's not good. we will usually
have a water break during practice, so bring some.)
-a sweatshirt (just incase it gets cold during night practices.)
-handwarmers (for when it gets REALLY REALLY cold.)
-candy (on your respective weekend, you and your guard sister
will be responsible for getting the guard on a sugar high!)
-a smile (because you love guard oh so much..hah. okay, that
was complete cheese. but for real, have a positive attitude and we will get things done quickly and everyone will be happy.
and don't forget, talking too much is bad for you. less talking=more fun!)
